On Saturday I picked my "new" (to me!) Felicity at AGPNY. She is one of the signed ones, but she will be on display at home with the other "original four", not in the box! I want to have my girls where I can hug them!
I was planning on selling my other first edition Felicity, as a way of (partly) paying off my new splurge.
But some things have changed... [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Last night, I got "new" Lissie out of the box and was ready to put her together with the other 4 when I discovered she has several flaws. So I bring "old" Lissie to the living room for comparison.
At this point DD (almost 9) picked up "old" Lissie and asked me what am I going to do with her. So I told her I was planning to sell her.
You have to understand that DD is NOT a manipulator or a brat of any kind. She is an extremely sweet and very "grown up" kind of girl. (no bias here!)
So, at that point she hugs "old" Lissie and tears strart rolling down her cheeks. She gives the doll to me and says "Good bye, Lissie"
So I asked her if she wanted to keep her as her own doll (she already has 9 AGs!) and she picks up Lissie again and hughs her as if there is no tommorrow, and between tears and smiles thanks me for her!!!
(I am having goose bumps out of writing this!)
Well... since that moment there has been a new entity in my house: a girl with a doll stuch to her! I have never seen DD so moved by a doll or so emotional for a "thing"
So, later in the evening, in her typical reflective way she comes over and says: "Mom, I do not know why I feel so much for just a doll. She is not just a toy. There is something more to her. I wanted to cry just to see her go, I could not think of how lonely she would be."
And this is feom a girl that sees fixer uppers coming and going al the time!
Oh my! Kids are the true teachers in life! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

It's my understanding that the older dolls do not have body tags. The only dolls I have with body tags are my Mattel ones.

I have a Felicity from about 1993 without a tag and my 1995 Sam is also tagless.

It is soup to nuts!
My "old" Lissie has a body tag that says "Made in Germany 1986" as well as her dress
The "new" (signed) Lissie has no body tag, but her dress has the German tag.

Regarding AGPNY: they still have some (they'd better, since they have to exchange the one I now have!)
The PS told me today that tomorrow she will go "through all of the ones left" to find me a flawless one. Yup! In plural... that means there are sseveral left. Then again, if their wig is as the one I got... yuck!
PM me if you want additional info.

That's weird that your old Lissie has a tag! My first edition Lissie doesn't, and neither does my 1996 Molly and AGT 7.

I have 2 PM Felicity dolls. One has a body tag that says "Made in Germany 1986" - the other has no body tag. Both have dresses that says "Made in China 1993. So it seems that some PM Felicity dolls do have a body tag, while others don't. There is no rhyme or reason - LOL!

Awwww... how sweet!

I'm glad that Felicity found someone to love her.

Neither of my Felicity's have a body tag though. Didn't someone say awhile back that some of their tags had Germany and some had West Germany? No consistancy even with that.

But yes, I did hear that NY had some more signed ones, but I think most of them were faulty. I hope that they are able to find you a really nice one!

Then again, maybe it's that not all of the PS OR CS people know about them being left. It took me three or four people before I spoke with someone who knew about them at AGPC.

Unhappy

This is an excellent story and so true. I would have been crying too. These dolls are more than just vinyl. They are part of our families and lives. They are us.

When I put Cynthia Diane and Skylar in the AG hospital, I was an nervous wreck. They have not come yet. I have my other 12 AG daughters here, but I feel their absence.

When I was in Chicago this past weekend, I really missed them bad!!! When I came through the door and ran and hugged them all!

I am crazy N [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] with my s
